Rex Heuermann pled guilty on Wednesday in the deaths of eight women in Gilgo Beach, reversing his previous claims of innocence. The 62-year-old had long denied being the suspected Long Island serial killer.

Heuermann is accused of murdering several women, including those known as the Gilgo Four, between 1993 and 2010. His arrest came more than a decade after the victims disappeared and their remains were discovered.

Heuermann was identified as a suspect in the Gilgo Beach murders in 2023 through a combination of digital forensics, vehicle records, and DNA evidence.
