Seb Gearhart named new Manager of Business Development for Panther Sports Properties – UNI Athletics

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, LEARFIELD’s Panther Sports Properties have announced the hiring of Seb Gearhart as its new Manager of Business Development.
In his position, Gearhart will be responsible for the development and sale of creative sponsorship packages, the building of relationships with local, regional and national companies and brands to highlight the investment of UNI Athletics and help maintain partnerships with corporate partners and department staff.
"We are excited to see Seb apply his experience at App State and education from UNI to help grow Panther Sports Properties," said Mike Murray, general manager of Panther Sports Properties. "We are so proud to welcome him home!"
A Cedar Falls native, Gearhart a 2022 UNI graduate, returns to his alma mater after two years as a Partnership Service Coordinator with Appalachian State University’s LEARFIELD team in Boone, North Carolina. In his role, he served as the liaison between Appalachian State corporate partners, property staff and athletic department staff, while managing and tracking all partnership advertising inventory.

"UNI has been instrumental in my personal and professional development, shaping me as a student, athlete, and individual. Now, I’m excited to leverage these experiences to showcase to businesses the immense value that partnerships with UNI Athletics can offer. It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of both the university and our corporate partners.”
Gearhart earned a pair of Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Business Administration from UNI with minors in Sports Administration and Entrepreneurship while also interning for Panther Sports Properties. During his time as an undergraduate student, he was also a member of UNI’s track and field team, contributing to the Panthers’ 2021 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) indoor championship in the 4×400-meter relay with a pair of MVC Scholar-Athlete Team selections. He currently resides in Cedar Falls with his wife, Olivia.
