Despite the prevalent state of civil unrest in the neighbouring state of Pakistan, intelligence sources have warned of possible movements of terrorist troops comprising of 10-20 members on the launchpads along the LoC with Pakistan.
“The agencies are receiving inputs that terrorists have come to launchpads from their camps and are waiting to be pushed towards the Indian side,” sources in the security establishment said.
These launchpad from across the border, regularly used by the Pakistani army and establishment for sending terrorists to infiltrate into Kashmir to cause unrest, are located across the Neelam Valley, Leepa Valley and Jhelum Valley.
Notably, despite the current state of unrest in the country, including attacks on military establishments, there have not been any change in the number of troops deployed at the LoC border with India, as they maintain a sizeable manpower in the mainland area.
According to military sources and intelligence, Pakistani establishment and military have activated terror outfits along the border as they wish to disrupt the forthcoming G-20 meeting in the Kashmir Valley, on 23-24 of May this year, under India’s presidency.
This comes amidst the apparent threatening statement of the Pakistan Foreign Minister in the SCO meet at Goa last week, where he had said “Waqt Aane Par Aisa Jawab Denge…. (we will retort at the right time)”, in a veiled reference to the scheduled G20 meeting in the valley.
