Graeme Souness is stepping down as a pundit with Sky Sports.
It was confirmed that the 69-year-old would leave his role on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday show following Liverpool’s 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Souness was given an emotional send off in the studio.
He said: “I’m going to miss you guys, the guys behind the scenes, I’ll miss you all.
“You know, for me, I decided that football management wasn’t for me anymore. I had the wrong temperament for it, the wrong personality.

“And then I was given the opportunity to do this and it’s been magnificent. It’s just been the most fantastic time for me, because I love football, I care about football and I worry about it going forward.
“But in Sky’s hands it’s in good hands, safe hands, and I think over the years we’ve created a Premier League with great detail and I think we look after football very well.”
Sky Sports director of football Gary Hughes added: “We will miss Graeme’s no-nonsense approach in the studio – matched only by his playing style.
“The insight and winning mentality he brought to our viewers as a result of his years’ of experience as both a player and a manager has been invaluable to our coverage. We wish him all the best for the future.”
The former Liverpool legend has featured as an analyst for the broadcasting company for 15 years, having previously had a career as a manager and player.
He has been heavily involved in media work since he left his managerial post with Newcastle United in 2006.
It comes after Sky Sports Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling confirmed that he will be leaving the show at the end of the season.
The 68-year-old, who has been in his position for over 25 years, announced on a live production his decision to leave when the 2022-23 campaign ends.
