Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of off-season camps and clinics held at your ice arena or facilities across the country.
Many arenas offer figure skating and hockey day camps and clinics for skaters of all ages and skill levels. Some bring in “big-name” professionals to teach and host seminars. Testing sessions may be available, allowing you to focus on advancing to the next level without the added pressures of the academic year.
Many figure skating camps feature fun themes, include both on-ice and off-ice training and stage end-of-camp performances for families.
Whether you’re looking for a fun way to spend all or part of your summer, or you want to concentrate on improving skating skills,  there’s probably a summer camp or clinic to meet your needs.

Summer Learn to Skate Camp
 June 5-7, 8:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Offered by the Huntsville Skating School & Training Academy, Summer Learn to Skate Camp will teach beginner skaters, ages 5 and up, the fundamentals of skating. New and current Learn to Skate skaters may participate. Campers will enjoy 2 hours of on-ice instruction accompanied by off-ice warmups and training. Daily snack and bottled water provided for each camper. Exhibition at the conclusion of camp.

 Five Weeks of Summer Camps — Choice of one or more weeks!
June 26 – July 28
 Learn to Skate for Basic/Intermediate Level (Beginners through Delta)
Monday through Friday, 1-5:30 p.m.
Includes class admission and skate rental, admission to that day’s public session and practice admission each day the student is enrolled. Skaters who have passed Alpha may also attend one of two stroking classes offered.
Cost: $94 first week; $72 each additional week
Advanced Camps
Monday through  Friday, 6:45 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. (hours dependent on level).
Each week-long package includes freestyle skills classes, special classes on jumps, spins, footwork, artistry, transitions, music interpretation, uncaptured maneuvers and more! Off-ice conditioning, too!
Cost: $124/week for one level; $174 for both levels. Additional afternoon freestyle practice ice and private lessons available upon request for an additional fee.

Sharper Edge Skating School’s enthusiastic and creative professional staff will engage skaters in a variety of on- and off-ice fun! Summer Splash will conclude Thursday with an exhibition featuring all campers, and families are invited to attend and watch.

Pre-Season Skating Camp
Aug. 14-18 and Aug. 21-25
Program is open to all skaters who have participated and completed at least one instructional skating session. All participants must be 5 years old prior to start of the program. A class focusing on the skater’s level will be taught daily, along with an off-ice class, which may include off-ice jumping, conditioning, hip hop, yoga and ballet.
